Registration & Cost
This professional development experience is specifically designed for K-12 teachers. We welcome all educators! There are several ways to participate in this unique experience -- for professional development points or for graduate credit. Here is an overview of the options:
- Professional Development Points (PDPs)
For only $120, you can register to participate in the seminar for professional development purposes and earn PDPs. You are eligible to receive 1 PDP per contact hour; the seminar consists of 12-contact hours. At the end of the two-day experience, you will receive a formal certificate from the Lynch School of Education documenting the number of contact hours. - Graduate Credit - 1 Credit Course
You can earn graduate credit for participating in the seminar by either redeeming a voucher from the Lynch School of Education or paying for a 1-credit course. Through the first option, you can enroll in the mentoring seminar using a three-credit voucher from Boston College. Cooperating teachers receive vouchers from the Lynch School of Education in appreciation for mentoring student teachers from Boston College. If you, or a colleague, has access to a three-credit voucher from Boston College, it can be used to enroll up to three K-12 teachers. The participating teachers must be members of the same partnership school district (e.g., Boston, Newton or Brookline) but, do not need to teach at the same school. When using a voucher, you only need to assume responsibility for a $60 Graduate Student Activity fee; it is required of all students enrolled in graduate courses at Boston College. The second option is to enroll in the course and to pay $1,260 -- the cost for a 1-credit course at the Lynch School of Education.
